Montefalco Sagrantino Docg

Wine made from the Sagrantino grape, the native vine of the Montefalco region. The peculiar characteristics of this grape makes it a unique product. Wine of great structure, characterized from an obvious tannic fibre and with typical notes of blackberry and cherry. It is a wine that can be drunk soon after the time imposed by the wine law, but it can also be left to mature in the wine cellar for several years, thanks to its extraordinary ability to develop in the bottle.

Harvest: October
Winemaking: fermentation in steel. Maceration for around 4 weeks.
Aging: 24 months in 25 hectolitre French oak barrels
Refinement: in bottle for 36 months. It reaches full maturity after 7 years
Characteristics: rich ruby red colour, with grenadine shades. Very intense, deep and complex aroma with scents of wild blackberry and black cherry and aromatic herbs and spices. Strong structure, pleasantly tannic and very persistent flavour
Serving: it goes very well with main courses of red meat and game. Perfect with strong cheeses
Serving Temperature: 16-18°C

Montefalco Sagrantino Passito Docg

The most traditional of Montefalco’s wine, produced from selected Sagrantino grapes left to wither on the vine for over three months. After this process, the wine yield very limited, approximately 25-30 litres every 100 kg of fresh grapes. After several rackings and aging for a year in oak barrels, the Sagrantino passito completes its refinement in bottles, where it remains at least six months before it can be drunk. It is a wine that ages very well and which improves its characteristics over time.

Winemaking: fermentation in steel. Maceration of approximately 14 days
Aging: in bottle for 36 months
Refinement: in bottles for 6 months
Characteristics: rich ruby red colour, with grenadine shades. Very intense, deep and complex aroma with notes of wild blackberry and black cherry. The flavour is an amazing combination of the sweetness of the residual sugars balanced by the extraordinary tannic richness of the Sagrantino. Great structure, consistency and balance Serving: Unaccompanied or with fruit and nut cakes like the typically Umbrian “Rocciata” cake; with herb cheeses or aged pecorino cheeses

Montefalco Rosso Doc

Montefalco Rosso is one of the traditional wines from our region. It combines the elegance and ease of Sangiovese with the structure and tannins of the Sagrantino. The perfect accompaniment for traditional Umbrian dishes.

Production: 27.000 bottles of 0.750 litres
Grapes: Sangiovese 70%; Sagrantino 15%; Merlot 15%
Grape harvest: October
Winemaking: fermentation in steel. Approximately 3 weeks of maceration
Aging: in 25 hectolitre French oak barrels for a year
Refinement: in bottles for 24 months. It is a wine which may continue to develop for at least 4-5 years
Characteristics: intense ruby-red colour. Deep and complex aroma, with flavours of plum, cherry and spices. It has good structure, is balanced and persistent, easy to drink. Ideal with strong-flavoured pasta dishes like strangozzi with truffle, tagliatelle with goose sauce and risotto with porcini mushrooms. Perfect with red meats main courses

Clarignano Montefalco Grechetto Doc

The Clarignano is a wine that was born from our desire to create a smoother version of the traditional Grechetto. The Viogner grape, with its uncommon characteristics of aroma, fineness and equilibrium, seemed the ideal partner for the more acid Grechetto.

Grapes: Grechetto 80%, Viognier 20%
Winemaking: soft press, fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature
Aging: in steel for 4 months
Refinement: in bottles for 3 months
Characteristics: deep straw yellow. A spicy and soft fresh, fruity smell with notes of peach and gooseberry. Good balance of freshness
 Serving: startes and fish courses. Soups with beans, lentils and cereals, grilled fish and white meats

Montefalco Bianco Doc

It is a wine that expresses the characteristics of the own production area. It is obtained from Spoletino Trebbiano grapes and enriched by Viognier and Chardonnay grapes.

Tasting notes: From the intense aromas of tropical fruit and green apple, good structure, fruity and persistent.
Serving: Recommended with fish dishes, white meat and fresh cheese.

Tempestivo Trebbiano Spoletino Doc

Tempestivo is one of the most important traditional wines of Umbria, that is produced from the Trebbiano Spoletino Grape.

Winemaking: skin contact maceration, soft pressing, static cold clarification; fermentation in stainless steel vats by controlled temperature
Aging: with the less in stainless steel vats for 3 months
Refinement: in bottles for 3 months
Tasting notes: flowers, hawthorn, tropical fruit and cedar with a slightly spicy finish.
Serving: Ideal with prosciutto ham or culatello, seafood pasta, cheeses.
Serving temperature: 12°C

Brixio Rosato

Pink color. The nose reveals intense and fruity, with peach and tropical fruit in evidence.

Winemaking: soft pressure, cold static clear, fermentation in stainless steel vats by controlled temperature.

Tasting notes: In the mouth it is fresh, sapid and soft, very balanced and persistent.
Serving: Accompanies land and sea appetizers.It can be served with fish first courses or with legume and cereal soups. Ideal with light fish based main courses.
Serving temperature: 10°C - 12°C
