GRAPPA

Grappa of Sagrantino white and aged

The grappa of Sagrantino is an Italian speciality, specificatly Umbrian, from Montefalco. L’Azienda Agricola Spacchetti offers two types of grappa of Sagrantino, white and aged in cherry wood barrets. Both are the result of a careful selection of grape skins which are obtained from the pressing of the fermented Sagrantino grapes. This grappa is produced using the traditional system of discontinuous distillation by steam circulation. The direct passage of the steam over the pomace allows a gradual and uniform distillation that shows off the characteristics of the vine. The entire process is completely artisanal, led by the intuition and the experience of the master distiller. The process is a long one, but it assures a product of superior quality characterized by complexity and softness and enriched by the typical aromas of the Montefalco Sagrantino.
